Enya (Eithne) is the younger sister of Miare, Ciaran, and Pol. She assisted Clannad on and off for years. In 1978, she played keyboard for the album 'Crann Ull' and would later perform vocals on 'Fuaim' in 1982. After Fuaim, she left the band to seek her own solo career, phoneticizing her name, originially 'eithne,' to Enya.

Yes. Maire began her solo career in the early 90s. She has released a total of 3 albums: 1992's 'Maire', 1994's 'Misty Eyed Adventures',1998's 'Perfect Time', and 2000's 'Wind on Water'.

Pol was one of the pillars of Clannad. A founding member and a co-writer for the band's first 12 albums. Pol is quite talented and has breathed much life into Clannad. So why did he leave? According to his post Clannad album, 'Trisan', it was said in the insert:

I left Clannad in 1990 because I felt I was in need of furthur musical challenges and horizons. If someone had told me that by the end of September 1991 I would have embarked on a world tour with two Oriental musicians, I would not have believed them!

Based on this it seems that Pol left on good terms to pursue his own efforts. In much the same way as Maire has produced her solo albums, Pol wished to experiment beyond the bounds of Clannad. Although the album 'Trisan' is somewhat raw, it holds great promise. A worthy addition to any Clannad fans' musical collection.

Yes. They have toured the states since the release of Banba. They toured Europe, Japan, New Zealand, Australia in 1996 for the album 'Lore'. They seem to tour for major album releases. Maire recently made some guest appearances at several Barnes and Nobles to promote her solo release. I am sad that I missed it.

Clannad sings in both English and Irish Gaelic. However, in the song "I will find you", there were a couple verses in Cherokee and Mohican.
